2015-3-4 Longhorn Circus

I started to take photos for The Odyssey newspaper around 2 months ago. 

Last week I went to shoot Longhorn Circus' weekly practice session, and was amazed by the acrobatics, hula-hooping, and acrobatic yoga that they practiced. Some of the members of Longhorn Circus were preparing for the upcoming Forty Acres Fest.

2014-10-15 Son Armado

Recently I did a class multimedia project about an East Austin music group called Son Armado that plays music of "son jarocho", a music genre originated from Veracruz, Mexico. Here're some shots of their practice:

Peter Mendoza, co-founder of Son Armado, demonstrates a song to community members by singing and playing a “jarana,” a guitar-like instrument.
